ABOUT
Care4Me

‘Care4Me’ is our garment care information programme to ensure garment longevity.

We only design pieces that can be cared for easily. No hot washes or dry cleaning here. Cold water washing saves energy, money and also extends the life of your garments.

Not heating water per machine wash means energy saving on the full load which saves money and energy. Most fibres benefit from cold water washing, as hot water can break down their structure and decrease their lifespan in the wash. If your garments are dyed, hot water can also bleed the colour in a hot wash, so washing in cold water retains garment colour integrity.

We’re all about not washing your garments too often and only washing when dirty. Try spot cleaning with a light damp cloth to remove spot marks and air dry your garments to save on energy and the life of your garments.

We select fabrics which have been produced in a way that is gentler to the planet. We include recycled manmade fibres such as recycled polyester, support sustainable cotton farming practices in partnership with the Better Cotton Initiative and include organic and recycled cotton in our garments. We are developing products with hemp, linen and lyocell fabrications, which require less water and chemical inputs. We are committed to working with our suppliers to identify production processes that reduce impact on the environment.

Organic Cotton

All of our key Tee & Fleece programs are made from 100% organic cotton helping to reduce the environmental impact of conventionally grown cotton. Organic cotton growers are committed to land integrity, working to rotate crops, reducing water consumption and implementing natural methods for pest control. The benefits of organic cotton are absorbency, machine washable and soft hand feel.

Caring for Organic Cotton
Always wash in cold water to prevent shrinking of cotton garments.
Remove from washing machine and give a little stretch or shake to get them back into their original shape, then simply hang dry on clothes line or in a warm area of your house during winter.

Recycled Cotton

10% Recycled cotton is used in all our Denim. Our recycled cotton is made from post-consumer textile waste helping to divert waste from landfills. Recycled cotton has that soft cotton feel without the environmental impact that comes from conventionally grown cotton.

BCI BETTER COTTON INTITIATIVE

BCI is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising the sustainability standard of cotton production globally. Better Cotton is grown in a way that uses water efficiently, cares for the health of the soil and natural habitats, reduces the use of harmful chemicals, and improves the lives of farming communities. Caring for Denim
Wash less frequently and wash in cold water
Wash less often - every 8-10 wears ensures your denim will maintain fit. Spot clean with damp sponge and little bit of soap to remove small marks and stains, instead of washing the whole garment.
We love when your jeans look instinctively you and have your curves and imprints, this only comes from reducing your wash cycle frequency.

Hang Dry your denim for optimum shape and turn inside out to prevent fading.

RECYCLED MANMADE FIBRES

Manmade fibres are known for their wrinkle resistant and easy clean properties, however have a large environmental footprint. By transitioning to recycled manmade fabrics, such as recycled polyester made from waste PET material, we are reducing reliance on finite resources and repurposing waste material that could otherwise end up in landfills.

Caring for Recycled & Manmade Fibres
Always wash in cold water to save energy, cost and ensure the longevity of your garment. Specifically for manmade fibre blends in your knits.
1. Fold up your sweater or knit and place it in a zip-top freezer bag. Freeze it 3 or 4 hours then take it out and give it a good shake. The belief is that this freeze-and-shake method will cause all loose hairs to fall out all at once instead of just gradually as you wear it.
2. Or an initial cold hand wash should reduce if not remove all loose fibres.

LYOCELL

Lyocell is a semi-synthetic fiber, part of the Rayon family, produced by environmentally responsible processes from sustainably sourced natural raw material wood. Known for their natural comfort, Lyocell fibres are strong, moisture absorbing and gentle on the skin, we use tencil in selected pants & shirts.

Caring for Lyocell
Delicate fabrics may be hand-washed in cold water with a gentle detergent. Drip dry. Tencel will shrink about 3% with the first washing and will resist shrinking from then on.
Machine washing, using the gentle cycle, is appropriate for many garments (read the garment care label), and drip drying is preferable to machine drying. If line dried, you can briefly toss in the dryer with a damp towel to soften the fabric.
If you must touch up the garment with an iron, use a warm iron only. Too much direct heat may scorch the fabric.

liNEN

A natural fibre made from the fibres of a flax plant. While still a lengthy manufacturing process, the fibre is strong, absorbent and quick drying.

Caring for Linen
We think linen is pretty neat - it becomes softer and more absorbent after each wash. We recommend washing linen on low temperatures in lukewarm or cold, and preferably soft, water. Use the gentle machine cycle and a mild detergent to protect the fibres. Hand Dry on line.

FLEECE

Part of our key programme, our Fleece is made 100% organic cotton helping to reduce the environmental impact of conventionally grown cotton. Organic cotton growers are committed to land integrity, working to rotate crops, reducing water consumption and implementing natural methods for pest control. The benefits of organic cotton are absorbency, machine washable and soft hand feel.

COTTON POPLIN

Is a lightweight easy to wear, easy to care natural fibre. More durable than cotton, it lasts longer and is less prone to creasing which makes it low fuss maintenance.

ALPACA WOOL

Lightweight, warm, naturally renewable wool. The soft hooves along with effective eating and drinking habits of the Alpaca reduces environmental impact. Containing no lanolin, alpaca fiber is also naturally hypoallergenic.

Caring for Alpaca Wool
Wash in cold water with a gentle soap. Take the wet garment and lay it on a towel in it’s regular shape and roll up the towel removing excess water. Do this a second time with a second towel and leave to lie to dry in warm part of the house or outside in the sun. Once dry, fold garment carefully to avoid creasing. Don’t hang as that will cause the garment to stretch.
